Skipton Building Society

The Skipton Building Society is the 6th largest UK Building Society. They are dedicated to mutuality and are run for the benefit of their members. They believe in "Talking Financial Sense". Cutting the jargon and offering sound advice are their aims. Today, they enjoy a reputation for being one of the nation's leading financial services providers with assets of over £5 billion.

As a mutual organisation they exist to serve the best interests of their customers and members. By remaining mutual and not having to pay dividends to shareholders, they we can continue to operate within much narrower margins. This enables them to offer more favourable rates to borrowers and savers alike. You can rest assured that at the Skipton, they will stay in touch with their core values to build on the local advantages and personal service that they value so highly.

There's more to them than just investments and mortgages. We have a number of subsidiaries offering financial services such as investing offshore and estate agency.

Skipton Building Society was founded in 1853. They innovate, but remain true to the values of a traditional building society. They also support charities and projects local to both their Principal Office in Skipton, North Yorkshire and to their branches nationwide.

When you walk into your local Skipton branch you'll find a modern, relaxing, welcoming environment staffed by friendly individuals whose sole aim is to help you in any way they can. Their literature has been carefully designed to be informative and easy to understand, not full of jargon.
